72 hrs

Triple Alice 1, installation Pam Lofts and photographer Juno Gemes

Conceived of as an environment, this is a 72-hour performance event, a 3 day-and-night inhabitation peopled by performers, visual artists, poets, sound artists, writers, theorists and audiences.

72 hrs circles questions emerging from Central Australia through body, sound, speech and image. Dwelling in the ecology of a distinctly Australian identity, this large-scale durational performance is an environment of exploration which addresses the impact of country and place - the Central Desert of Australia - on the personal and public psyche.

It is projected for the rivedbed in Alice Springs in 2007. It is one culminative outcome of the Triple Alice laboratories.
